SOLIDTEKNICS has developed two ranges of innovative world-first cookware: AUS-ION™ wrought iron (formed low-carbon steel), and nöni™ ferritic wrought stainless cookware. All are made in Australia, all are non-toxic, healthy, sustainable, and multi-century durable.
Ideally, every cook interested in healthy, non-toxic, and sustainable cooking would have a mixture of iron and stainless pans in the kitchen, because each has its strengths for different types of cooking:
AUS-ION™ is perfect for all everyday oil/fat-based frying, grilling, etc Our natural clean AUS-ION™ Australian wrought iron cooks and seasons like all bare cast iron cookware but is half the weight of traditional cast iron. Seasoned iron is the only known non-toxic and forever-renewable nonstick. All other nonsticks are made with toxic and/or disposable synthetic coatings. SHOP AUS-ION™
nöni™ is our conductive solid ferritic stainless steel range and is perfect for all liquid boiling, slow cooking, acidic sauces, and is very low maintenance. nöni™, in short, our new stainless pans are called, in full, 'CoSSNoNi', for 'Conductive Seamless Stainless Non-Nickel' ('nöni' for short!). Our nöni™ pans are formed into shape from one solid sheet of 3mm ferritic non-Nickel stainless steel (only very tiny trace amounts of Nickel: 0.6% maximum), which is near twice as conductive as regular Nickel-based stainless steels (eg. '18-10 stainless' means 18% Chromium and 10% Nickel). This makes our ferritic stainless more thermally conductive, and also very compatible with induction, without the need for clad/ply layers. SHOP nöni™
Both ranges are indestructible and designed to work together as a complete set of complementary pans, on any heat source.
Mix and match Solidteknics cookware according to the sizes and shapes best suited to your cooking. They will last your whole life, never needing replacement, then they can be passed down for many generations as treasured heirlooms. Every pan is engraved with the date of manufacture as a record for future generations.

AUS-ION™ is the world's only seamless one-piece production wrought iron chef pans.
We received rapid acclaim from top chefs when we launched the ground-breaking AUS-ION™ seamless wrought iron (formed low carbon mild steel) commercial cookware on Kickstarter in September 2015. The experts quickly realised that Australians had radically improved on the centuries-old rivetted French steel pans preferred by top chefs all around the world. Re-launched with a Satin shot-peened finish in October 2016, to better hold the seasoning, AUS-ION™ formed-iron pans season and cook just like cast iron, but are half the weight.
It has never been done before because it is almost impossible, and not possible with traditional pressing methods. After thousands of years of metal cookware (and a century of disposable cookware), this innovative little Australian engineering co. found a way.
How tough are these Aussie pans? We offer a written multi-century warranty for all of our cookware. This is not a marketing gimmick. This is solid engineering.
Our proudest moments are seeing families already planning to hand on their Solidteknics cookware, starting an heirloom tradition that we hope will inspire future generations of cooking love, and respect for healthy and sustainable products.
Most cookware cooks okay, and there are many others that are 1-piece (cast iron), and non-toxic (ceramic, glass). But our standards are higher. Apart from world-leading conductivity and cooking performance, for all our products we insist on: healthy (non-toxic), sustainable (multi-century durable), innovative patented world-first, competitive pricing, ethical, and local.
Yes, we have something to sell, but we are also mechanical engineers with over two decades of developing equipment for chefs, and our vision isn’t motivated by money. Here’s a brief summary of our decades of research:
Ceramic/stone-coated pans might not be toxic (if you can trust the source), but they are disposable, rapidly.
Most stainless steel is austenitic Nickel stainless and leaches that Nickel into food.
Solid glass/ceramic is great for health (if a trusted brand), but a terrible conductor (it's an insulator).
Synthetic nonstick should NEVER be heated in contact with food (and that is the point with cookware!), nor manufactured in the first place. Also, be very careful of marketing spin on ‘new’ synthetic nonstick: they keep inventing new trademarks and exotic additives (diamond, titanium) to mask the similar base chemistry to the original disgraced brand.
Here's our very clear position on synthetic coatings and other cookware materials, with links to the real, independent (unsponsored, nothing to gain), experts: https://bit.ly/2vYssHD .
A note from our founder and development engineer, MJ Henry, on the bigger picture......
”Help us change the wasteful and damaging synthetic nonstick habit forever. Feed your loved ones great local produce cooked on a non-toxic pan that won't be thrown in the landfill after a few years. Don't buy our Australian cookware as just technically great, healthy, sustainable pans to last your whole lifetime. Invest in them as a family heirloom and spread the love down through many generations of shared cooking history."
