22cm Sauteuse - Side-dishes, sauces, frittatas + sauté toss like the pros!
Australian-made, healthy & multi-generational cookware
Our 22cm AUS-ION™ Sauteuse has deeper sides than a standard skillet, making it ideal for one-pan meals such as frittatas, scrambled eggs, baking bread & cakes, and small roasts. Also great for deep frying and pan searing.
Made in Australia from clean 3mm thick Aussie iron, our AUS-ION™ pans provide excellent heat retention and thermal mass for consistent, even cooking. Seasoned with our new Quenched™ finish and ready to use. Learn why Quenched™ is a game-changer in iron cookware! Suitable for all heat sources from stovetop (including induction) to oven to campfire.
Shown here with our 18cm AUS-ION™ Skillet: Natural oil-based seasoning is the only low/non-stick cooking surface that can forever be restored and need never be disposed of. Every other non-stick cooking surface is an applied coating that is either toxic and/or short-lived in nature, and ultimately destined to end up as landfill.
BEFORE USE: Please read our Seasoning and Care guide.

All of our pans are designed to fit in a standard 600mm domestic oven, though we recommend checking measurements prior to purchase as internal dimensions of ovens do vary.
Please also note: All of our pans have a carefully engineered concave deliberately built in to the base. This is normal practice for all heavy based iron and steel pans, to allow for movement (expansion) when the metal is heated. To learn more about our concave and why it’s important, click HERE.
Pros outweigh the cons
By: Mike on 29 April 2022I bought a whole set on Kickstarter. These are so much lighter than our old cast iron and the longer handles mean cooler interaction and more room for a towel once they get hot. We cook over open fire often in summer so that will make that easier too. This 22cm pan is our go to for eggs and omelettes. On first use it was pretty non-stick as advertised. But using a wood spatula actually scraped quite a bit of the factory seasoning off… After a rinse and a quick season I realized that the texture of the pan itself is like a fine grit sandpaper and will shred a paper towel if you use one to coat your pan before stowing away. After about a dozen uses I notice the texture minimizing in the cooking surface as the seasoning builds. Paper towels lasting a few seconds longer. For our other pans we’ve seasoned them traditionally before cooking with them to avoid scraping off too much seasoning. Now they’ve all been seasoned and broken in and they’re a pleasure to cook with!

Old ways are best
By: Roy Lever on 4 March 2022I was tired of buying expensive 'non-stick' pans, only to throw them away after a couple of years. When I saw this product advertised I remembered how this was the method my mother used so I thought I would give it a go. First of all the service from Solidteknics was excellent and the pan came with full instructions on use and care. I have now used the pan 5 times, keeping to the instructions, and I am totally thrilled with it. Fish, meat, onions and egg and all without sticking. The pan is certainly solid and is a work of art in itself. I will certainly be replacing more pans with their products.
